101 things in 1001 days

Three years ago, January 2016, I began my first 101 in 1001 list. Have you guy seen these before?

At the time, I was working a job I loved at a company I hated. I was feeling restless in my career and my personal life. No matter how much I loved it, my job just felt all-consuming. My first list was born out of my desire to find more enjoyment and to actually live my life when I wasn’t at work.

After my initial list ended, I’d completed only 48 of 101 items. It seemed easily to feel frustrated by not even completing half, so I had to change my mindset.

Guys, I completed 48 new things. I was intentional about having fun and finding growth so during the 1001 days I started a new business, I tried new foods, I baked things I’d never made before!

Some items weren’t completed because my goals changed. I learned I hate knitting chunky projects; I didn’t feel like having a Kentucky Derby party (seriously, what was I thinking on that one?!); I realized I’m just not a fan of Christmas cards that aren’t hand written (and who has that kind of time) so I’ll literally never send those out.

This year when January rolled around again, I was itching to make a new list. Not because I hit that one out of the park, but not because I felt like I’d failed either. This new list is all about intention, that’s the keyword here. I have set my intention towards growing in a number of areas both personally and professionally, and my list helps me to stay on track and try new things.

I also got much more organized about keeping track of my multi-part or -month goals, and I’ll share more on that one day. But for now, I wanted to share my list because I’m so fascinated by the lists of others! Have you ever made a list like this before? Drop a comment below and tell me what you would put on your list!
